Flowtronex requires bi-annual certification of technicians in order to perform authorized work on Flowtronex pump stations. Attendees received training in Pace Control systems, ABB variable speed drives, and new product training on Flowtronex booster pump stations.
Earlier in January, William Hawkins, chief electrical engineer for Flowtronex, conducted a day-long training session on the Flowtronex Pace system at ProPump's annual technician meeting in Mooresville, NC.
ProPump & Controls, Inc. is a sales and service representative for Flowtronex, with 20 technicians covering 12 states and the Caribbean.
The North Carolina office of ProPump & Controls hosted our annual safety and technical meeting in Mooresville, NC. Twenty technicians and managers received training in arc flash and electrical safety, recertification by the Red Cross in CrR, Bloodborne pathogens, and basic first aid.
Aaron Auger with MitM systems reviewed the MitM line of biological wash water treatment systems, with a thorough discussion of biological processes, machine design, and potential applications for golf courses, parks, and municipal equipment users.
Will Hawkins, chief electrical engineer for Flowtronex conducted a day-long course on Flowtronex's new Pace control software, and distributed the latest software to the ProPump technicians.
Jeff McGuire, regional manager for South Carolina, presented a review and update of several challenging SCADA projects performed for clients in his region. Jay Monahan, regional manager for Ohio, detailed a first-of-its-kind project by the Ohio group, utilizing a reverse osmosis system to mitigate poor water quality at Red Run Golf Course in Royal Oak, Michigan. Scott Hoppe, regional manager for Georgia, discussed pump intake rehabilitation projects his group has completed on several installations in the Southeast.
The week-long meeting concluded with a company dinner and address to the group by John Leibold, President and CEO of the Leibold family of companies.
ProPump & Controls was awarded a sub-contract from L.M. McLamb & Son Construction, for SCADA work for the Juniper Swamp Irrigation Phase 1 project, for the Town of Surf City. The project includes communications between the treatment plan and the Juniper Swamp disposal area, controls and instrumentation for 2-200 HP, 3000 GPM irrigation pumps, and control of a number of remote, solar-powered valve control stations with valves ranging in size up to 18". Mike Nealy, integrator for ProPump, will develop the existing Trihedral VT SCADA HMI software at the Surf City water treatment plant, to provide control screens for the Juniper Swamp system, which is 9 miles form the plant. Jeff McGuire, regional manager for South Carolina, will head up the project.
